It depends on the purpose of using guillotine systems. If it is necessary to close the space only from the wind, we recommend to use single glass. If you want to use the space all year round, we recommend double glazing. This will help to prevent condensation on the inner surface of the glass, as well as provide an opportunity to keep the heat in the room during the cold season.

The bioclimatic pergola was designed to provide effective protection from the sun and precipitation in the warm Mediterranean climate. In most cases, aluminum lamellas do not withstand snow load, so we recommend to take into account the climatic conditions of the region where the pergola is installed, and leave the lamellas in the open vertical position during the winter season to prevent high snow load.

Taking into account our experience, we prefer to use belts. Inside the belts there are steel cords that provide high load capacity, which far exceeds the working load. Belts do not require maintenance for many years but using chains requires seasonal maintenance. However, in some cases, for example, in case of high height of the guillotine system, the use of chains is necessary.

We recommend two types of energy-saving double-glazed windows. The first one is with low-emission glass LOW-E, which provides a high energy saving coefficient and transparency of the glass. The second option is a double-glazed window with multifunctional glass, to protect the room from bright sunlight, as well as to preserve heat in the cold season. In both cases, the inner and outer glass are thermally hardened, which ensures high strength and safety of the double-glazed window.
